Ms Lai is a competent General, Endocrine and Laparoscopic Consultant Surgeon with an interest in Gallbladder Surgery, Open and Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, Thyroid, Parathyroid and Parotid Surgery.
Ms Lai performs Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy with a GESA accreditation.
Ms Lai completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2002, and her surgical fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. She then furthered her specialty training in General and Endocrine Surgery. She was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 2013 at The Northern Hospital, Epping and Werribee Mercy Hospital, Werribee.
Ms Lai is a well trained General Surgeon with wide breath of experience in treating and managing surgical conditions. To date, she has performed hundreds of General Surgical and Endocrine cases such as Gallbladder Surgery, Hernia Surgery, Thyroid, Parathyroid and Parotid Surgery.
Ms Lai is committed in providing excellent patients care by providing prompt review of patient and excellent communication ensuring patients are well informed.
Ms Lai was appointed Head of Acute Surgery Unit at The Northern Hospital, Epping in 2015. This has allowed her to work closely and teach junior doctors and registrars. She also participate in teaching program of local General Practitioners.
Ms Lai is amongst a few female surgeons in Melbourne. She is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Malay.
